Careers advice and guidance
Successfully completing your apprenticeship means that you now have a trade for life. Your learning and development doesn’t have to finish here though. There are lots of opportunities for you to consider, perhaps not straight away but as your career develops. A few examples include:
- Progressing further within your company for example by specialising in design work
- Taking on supervisory or managerial responsibilities
- Studying for higher level qualifications
- Seeking professional recognition
- Occasionally you may need to renew and update your qualifications as industry standards change
- Becoming more involved in the management of the business or potentially starting your own

Support with health and wellbeing
Our mental and physical wellbeing plays an important role in our overall health and also how we deal with difficult and challenging situations, whether this is at work or at home.
It can be difficult to address our wellbeing when we’re not sure where to seek help. With this in mind we’ve included links to a selection of organisations that offer help, advice, and support to those working in the building services engineering sector. Please take some time to explore the services they offer so you are aware of the support available whenever you may need it.
