Gas network operatives work within the gas transportation industry, part of the utilities sector. They construct, maintain and repair gas network infrastructure, to provide a reliable supply/service to the end user.

Entry Requirements


Apprentice will need to achieve Level 1 English and Maths functional skills unless the equivalent GCSEs are already held. Apprentices will need to have achieved these before they take the end point assessment.

Qualifications


The Level 1 Network Construction Operations qualification is a mandatory component of this apprenticeship.

Delivery and Assessment

  • Delivered via block release at Burn Hall.
  • The End Point Assessment (EPA) is expected to take place in the final 3 months of the apprenticeship.
  • Apprentices must pass this to complete their apprenticeship and become a fully qualified operative.
  • The EPA consists of a practical assessment, an interview and a multiple-choice test.
  • Grades of pass and distinction are available.
