The Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician Apprenticeship has been approved for delivery for three years, and its now time to review the apprenticeship to ensure its still fit for purpose.

The apprenticeship was written by employers from across the industry to provide apprentices with the skills and knowledge they need to kick start their career in the trade. The employers formed an Employer Group, recognised by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) to make decisions around content, assessment methods, grading and quality assurance.

The Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors (APHC) are inviting members to join the Employer Group and share their feedback and experiences of the apprenticeship.

The project is due to begin towards the end of March with the aim to have completed the review by the end of July. During this time there will be online meetings to discuss key areas of the apprenticeship, including a review of the Occupational Profile and Assessment Plan against the criteria, technology updates, and a funding review.

If you would like to be involved, please contact the APHC, their contact details can be found here.
