Following regional heats earlier this year, JTL is delighted that Ben Gillin achieved second place in this year’s SkillELECTRIC final, where two other JTL learners also showcased incredible capabilities.
Ben was presented with his medal on Friday night at the WorldSkills UK National Finals awards.
Ben’s Training Officer Michael Smith commented: “Ben’s a credit to the industry and will go far. He has an excellent attitude, and dedicated his own time in preparing for this competition.”
Ben’s employer holds a similar view of his potential. Dafydd Thomas, Director Lloyd Morris Electrical, noted his pride of their apprentice.
“I am glad that he secured a medal after all the hard work he has put in over the last few months; he has done this whilst not losing focus on production commitments, which is also a huge credit to the way he conducts himself.
“He also reiterated to me that he would like to remain involved with similar events and support for future candidates which is also great to hear, and now his full focus will be on the AM2.”
JTL sends congratulations to Ben, as well as fellow JTL finalists Demi-Mae Whitehead and Thomas Turner, whose dedication also saw them to the last heat of the competition.
