JTL, one of the leading apprenticeship providers in England and Wales, proudly unveiled its newest training centre in Norwich on Friday 17th November, which was officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Norwich, Councillor James Wright.
Norwich is the home of JTL’s very first training facility, which opened seven years ago. However, with the growing demand for apprenticeships in the local area, JTL recognised the need for a larger and more advanced centre.
The £1.5 million investment highlights JTL’s continuous commitment to nurturing the next generation of electrical and plumbing and heating apprentices, ensuring the required training facilities are available to match the growing demand for this in the region.
Located on Mason Road, the centre has already generated two new jobs alongside the existing team that will move to the new centre, with scope for more vacancy opportunities as the facility grows.
The Norwich-based training centre will not only provide apprenticeship opportunities for the region, but will also be joined by JTL’s subsidiary company, Develop, to offer short courses covering compliance, technical and safety training. The Develop team joined JTL for the Norwich centre opening, discussing their line of work and answering any queries around ACS Gas, Electrical, Gas Distribution and Street Works training programmes.
Accompanied by JTL’s Chair, Sir John Low, and Chief Executive, Chris Claydon, Councillor James Wright toured the new training hub, and took the opportunity to meet with other members of the JTL team and current apprentices.
JTL is dedicated to creating environments that empower both theoretical and practical learning for apprentices. The Norwich centre will join its expanding network of training hubs and will comprise of modern classrooms, workshops and kitchen facilities.
